Gerard Delanty, University of Liverpool

Gerard Delanty is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology, the University of Liverpool and Visiting Professor of Sociology, York University, Ontario, Canada (Fall Term, 1998). He is Editor of the new Sage journal, the European Journal of Social Theory. His books include Inventing Europe: Idea, Identity, Reality, London: Macmillan, 1995, Social Science: Beyond Constructivism and Realism, Buckingham: Open University Press, 1997, (with P.
