Anne Opie is a Senior Research Fellow attached to the Health Services Research Centre, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Her recent books are Beyond Good Intentions: Support Work with Older People (Institute of Policy Studies, Victoria University of Wellington) and There's Nobody There: Community Care of Confused Elderly (Auckland: OUP). She has published on issues of joint custody, community care, caregiving, service delivery, and on aspects of qualitative research. Her current research is on multi-disciplinary team work in health care. Prior to taking up a research career, she worked as a social worker and therapist in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
