Kimberly Fisher, University of Essex

Kimberly Fisher completed her PhD in the Department of Sociology at the University of Essex in the Spring of 1997. Her dissertation, which employed both frame analysis and content analysis techniques, addressed press coverage of military women and homosexuals in the Crimea War, the two World Wars, and Operation Desert Storm. She is now working on research on gender, sexuality, and ethnicity issues in military forces, sexual health in the British gay communities and economic issues faced by people with multiple sclerosis.
