Alice Orchiston
Alice Orchiston is a lecturer in law at Western Sydney University, and PhD candidate at Sydney Law School, University of Sydney. She currently teaches Criminal Law, Contracts and Anti-Discrimination Law. Prior to joining Western Sydney University Alice held research and teaching positions at the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales, and worked as a lawyer and consultant specialising in gender based violence and labour issues. Alice is interested in the potential for regulation, policy, law and legal processes to contribute to, or reinforce, social marginality. Her research spans three themes: sex industry regulation, precarious work, and gender-based violence in the workplace. In 2013 Alice was awarded a Julian Small Foundation Research Grant for her doctoral research.
