Ian Cole
Ian Cole is Professor of Housing Studies in CRESR at SHU. He has recently directed a major evaluation of Housing Benefit in the private rented sector for the Department of Work and Pensions and is currently leading a review for the campaign organisation Crisis on Housing Benefit and young people under 21 years old.

Ryan Powell is a Principal Research Fellow in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University with research interests in the broad areas of urban sociology and geographies of exclusion. Specific interests relate to outsider and stigmatised groups in society, the governance of conduct and the sociology of Norbert Elias. He has published his research in various academic journals and edited collections.
