James Nicholson
James has extensive experience of teaching mathematics and statistics at secondary school. He holds a mathematics degree from Cambridge and an MSc in Applied Statistics and Statistics Education from Sheffield Hallam. He is the author of four A-level Statistics texts, and has contributed to a number of other mathematics and statistics texts, as well as writing journal articles and making conference presentations on teaching statistics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), and has been a Vice-President of the International Association of Statistical Education (IASE). He works in the SMART Centre developing data visualizations.

Sean McCusker is a Reader in Education in the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning at Northumbria University. With a background originally in Civil and Mechanical Engineering, his research over the last 15 Years has been in the field of Communication in Education. This research has sought to improve educational communication in various contexts; communicating knowledge and understanding through assessment, communicating evidence through data representation, communicating personal narratives through storytelling and communicating complex concepts through the use of LEGO® Serious Play®. This has included large-scale national and international projects and a number of European collaborations through Erasmus+.
