Anthony May

Dr Anthony May is a Research Assistant at the Centre for the Study of Football and its Communities, Manchester Metropolitan University. He also works as an Associate Lecturer in Public Services at Manchester Metropolitan, and previously taught on the Sports Studies programme at the University of Central Lancashire. He completed a PhD in Politics at Kingston University, graduating in 2013. His thesis examined the significance of cultural production to national identity in contemporary Scotland and Northern Ireland, focusing on football and literature as important elements of popular and elite culture.
