Sam de Boise is a teaching fellow, in the Department of Sociology at the University of York. He recently completed his doctorate at the University of Leeds and his research focused on Western constructions of masculinities, specifically exploring how notions of rationality and emotionality relate to historic and contemporary discourses around music.
