Gil Viry, Heiko Rüger and Thomas Skora

Gil Viry

Dr Gil Viry is a Chancellor’s Fellow in sociology at the University of Edinburgh and associate researcher at the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships (CRFR). He is graduated with a MA in physics and a PhD in sociology from the University of Geneva and is an expert in quantitative methods and social network analysis. His research interests are in the field of geographical mobility, distance and family relationships. He is currently working on the second wave of the European project ‘Job Mobilities and Family Lives in Europe’, exploring how mobility behaviour and family relationships change over time.

Heiko Rüger

Dr Heiko Rüger is a Senior Research Fellow at the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB) in Wiesbaden, Germany. He is holder of a master degree in sociology and a doctoral degree in physiological sciences from the University Medical Centre of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His research interests are in the fields of spatial mobility, family and health. At the BiB, he coordinates the research group on job-related spatial mobility and the European project ‘Job Mobilities and Family Lives in Europe’.

Thomas Skora

Thomas Skora is a Research Fellow at the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB) in Wiesbaden, Germany. He is holder of a master degree in sociology. Besides the interrelation between job-related spatial mobility and private/professional life, his research interests focus on quantitative survey methods. At the BiB, he is currently working at the editorial office of the German Demographic Portal.
