Maddie Breeze
Maddie Breeze is currently completing her ESRC funded doctoral research in Sociology at the University of Edinburgh. Maddie played a key role in founding Edinburgh’s roller derby league in 2008 and played and organized roller derby with them for four years. Her PhD work focuses on developing an analysis of non-/seriousness as participants negotiate sociologically familiar trajectories of bureaucratization and organizational solidification. Developing a keen interest in creative and collaborative methods Maddie works empirical materials into ’zines, a blog, and a group film-making project.
