Alison Pilnick
After a spell working as a hospital pharmacist, Alison Pilnick joined the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Nottingham, first as a student and then, following a short period at the University of Helsinki, as a member of staff. She is Professor of Language, Medicine and Society in the School, and Chair of the Training Board for Nottingham's ESRC funded Doctoral Training Centre in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
