Liliana Riga
Liliana Riga is Lecturer in Sociology and Programme Director of the MSc in Global Social Change at the University of Edinburgh. Her recent book is The Bolsheviks and the Russian Empire (Cambridge University Press, 2012). Her research is on assimilation, focused on a project on ethnic displacement and another on the Americanization Movement.

James Kennedy
James Kennedy is Lecturer in Sociology and Programme Director of the MSc Nationalism Studies at the University of Edinburgh. His interests lie broadly in comparative/historical sociology and political sociology, with particular interest in the sociology of nationalism. His new book, Liberal Nationalisms: Empire, State, and Civil Society in Scotland and Quebec (McGill-Queen's University Press), is forthcoming.
