Katherine Twamley
Katherine Twamley is an ESRC postdoctoral fellow working under the mentorship of Prof. Ann Oakley at the Social Science Research Unit, Institute of Education (IoE). The fellowship is to disseminate the findings of her PhD thesis which was entitled 'A Suitable Match: Love and marriage amongst middle class Gujaratis in the UK and India'. The PhD was an ethnographic study exploring how the local socio-economic context shapes the intimate ideals and experiences of young people. She has also worked as a Research Officer at IoE, UCL and City University. Her research has focused on family, intimacy, ethnicity and health.
