This paper is a result of my E.S.R.C funded doctoral research which was concerned with South Asian suburbanisation in the city of Nottingham. I am currently working as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Northumbria. This paper explores innovative methodological approaches and ways of engaging with our participants and the place they live in.
