Stella Chatzitheochari
Stella Chatzitheochari is nearing the completion of her PhD in time-use research at the University of Surrey where she was previously Marie Curie Research Fellow (2006-2009). Stella holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Macedonia, Greece (2004) and an M.Phil. in Sociology from the University of Cambridge, UK (2005). She has previously published articles and book chapters on time use methodology and on the socio-economic correlates of sleep duration, and her main research interests lie in the areas of social stratification, non-monetary indicators of well-being and time allocation.

Sara Arber
Sara Arber is Professor of Sociology and Co-Director, Centre for Research on Ageing and Gender (CRAG) at the University of Surrey, where she was Head, School of Human Sciences (2001-4) and Head, Sociology Department (1996-2002). She was President of the British Sociological Association (1999-2001), and is a Fellow of the British Academy. Sara has written over 250 journal articles on gender and ageing, inequalities in health, and the sociology of sleep. Her books include 'The Myth of the Generational Conflict: Family and State in Ageing Societies' (with Claudine Attias-Donfut, Routledge, 2000); 'Gender and Ageing: Changing Roles and Relationships' (with Kate Davidson and Jay Ginn, 2003); and 'Contemporary Grandparenting: Changing Family Relationships in Global Contexts' (with Virpi Timonen, Policy Press, forthcoming).
