Maria Pérez-y-Pérez

Maria Pérez-y-Pérez (PhD) is a lecturer and Human Services Programme Coordinator at the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Canterbury. She is Deputy Director of Te Awatea Violence Research Centre and recipient of New Horizons for Women Research Award. Her research interests include: the organisation, policies, politics and practice of sex work; the politics of qualitative research; and the sociology of sexuality, intimacy and identity.

Tony Stanley

Tony Stanley (PhD) has worked in front-line child welfare social work and academic teaching in New Zealand, Australia and the UK for the past fifteen years. He enjoys the debates of academia and the translations of these for practice environments. He is currently working in statutory child protection management in London and teaching postgraduate social work at Westminster University. His research interests are: the sociology of risk; child welfare; and critical ethnography.
