Jonathan Hearn
Jonathan Hearn is Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Programme Director of the MSc in Nationalism Studies in the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh. His major research interests include the theorisation of social of power, social evolution and change, nationalism and national identity, and the political and moral organisation of capitalist, liberal, democratic societies. He is the author of Rethinking Nationalism: a critical introduction (Palgrave, 2006) and Claiming Scotland: National Identity and Liberal Culture (Edinburgh University Press, 2000). He is currently working on a book about the theorisation of social power.
