John R. Hall
John R. Hall is Professor of Sociology at the University of California Davis. His research spans the sociology of apocalyptic social movements, culture, historical sociology, theory, and epistemology. Books include: The Ways Out: Utopian Communal Groups in an Age of Babylon (1978); Gone from the Promised Land: Jonestown in American Cultural History (1987/2004); Apocalypse Observed, coauthored by Philip Schuyler and Sylvaine Trinh (2000), and Sociology on Culture, co-authored by Mary Jo Neitz and Marshall Battani (2003).
