Katie J. Ward is a Research Associate in the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield, where her research work focuses on the emergence of 'e-health' and the 'informed patient', and eating disorders and the body. She has published articles about health in a new media context. Before joining ScHARR she was engaged in research with the EMTEL II network, where her main interest focused on the consumption of media technology in the domestic context. She is currently co-editing a book on the 'domestication' of media technology.
