Barry Cooper
Barry Cooper is a professor of education at the University of Durham. His interests include research methods, the sociology of education, mathematics education and the evaluation of educational projects in developing countries. He is a co-editor of the British Educational Research Journal. His most recent book, with Máiréad Dunne, is Assessing Children's Mathematical Knowledge: Social class, sex and problem solving (Open University Press), a study of the ways in which the social class of children can impact upon the measurement of their mathematical knowledge and understanding in the context of national testing programmes.
